Fuel Variance
Workshop & Consumables → Fuel Variance compares every vehicle's actual full-to-full consumption against its configured norm, worst over-consumers first. It is the page you open when the fuel bill doesn't smell right.
The flagged filter
An interval that over-consumes by more than 15% above the vehicle's norm is flagged. Tick Flagged only to narrow the list to vehicles carrying at least one flagged interval — the theft/abuse watch list.
Reading the table

| Distance / Litres | Its full-to-full totals |
| Actual ℓ/100 | The measured rate |
| Variance | Actual vs norm, signed (e.g. +18.4%) — red past the 15% threshold |
| Flagged | Number of over-threshold intervals — red when non-zero |
A dash in Variance means the vehicle has no norm configured — set one, or the vehicle can never be flagged.
The Fleet total row shows the weighted fleet rate (total litres over total distance).
What to look for
- A vehicle consistently over norm with several flagged intervals warrants a fuel-slip audit — and a look at who was driving (see Driver Risk).
- A single flagged interval is often a data problem: a missed fill or an odometer typo creates a fake over-consumption spike.
- If many vehicles sit slightly over norm, the norms may be stale — recheck them against the fleet baseline on Fuel Efficiency Trend.
