Dangerous Goods
Compliance → Dangerous Goods manages the itemised dangerous-goods profile of a hazardous order: what exactly is on board, whether the hazard classes may travel together, and the SANS 10232 transport declaration the load must carry.
Picking the order
Choose an order in the Hazardous order picker at the top. Only orders flagged hazardous appear — if the order you want is missing, it wasn't captured as hazardous.
Adding consignment items
In Add consignment item, capture each dangerous good on the load:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| UN number | Exactly four digits (e.g. 1203) — required |
| Hazard class | e.g. 3 or 6.1 — required |
| Proper shipping name | e.g. Petrol — required |
| Subsidiary risk | Optional secondary hazard (e.g. 6.1) |
| Packing group | None, I, II, or III |
| Quantity / Unit | A non-negative amount and its unit (kg, L) — required |
| Packages / Package type | Optional count and packaging (e.g. IBC) |
Items appear in the Consignment items table below; remove one with the ✕ button on its row.
The load-segregation check
The Load segregation panel re-assesses the order every time the items change, against the SANS 10231 class-mixing rules:
- A green "Load is compatible for dispatch" banner means the classes on board may travel together.
- A red banner means a prohibited combination is on board — the load may not dispatch as composed. Split it across vehicles or consignments.
- The conflicts table lists each problem pair as Prohibited (may not share a vehicle) or Segregate (may share a vehicle only with proper separation).
The transport declaration
- Download declaration PDF renders the SANS 10232 dangerous-goods declaration for the order's current items.
- File to vault stores the declaration against the order, where the dispatch checklist from Requirement Templates can see it.
Re-file after changes. The declaration reflects the items at the moment it was produced — if the consignment changes, download and file it again.
